Three of the spots among the final four at Asia’s continental AVC Beach Tour women’s stop in Phu Yen, Vietnam were occupied by representatives of FIVB Volleyball Empowerment supported federations. New Zealand’s Shaunna Polley & Olivia MacDonald triumphed as gold medalists, while Elizabeth Alchin & Georgia Johnson defeated Jasmine Fleming & Stefanie Fejes in an all-Australian bronze medal match.

Valencia is the first stop in the 2025 season
Europe is about to take center stage in the 2025 Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour season as between this week and the end of September, as many as 25 Futures events will be held in the continent. Spain will be the first country on the continent to host tournaments, with the city of Valencia welcoming 28 men’s and women’s teams for a double-gender event this week.

Finland forges future in beach volleyball through FIVB Empowerment
Ambition was never the issue for Finland’s women’s beach volleyball team. What they needed was the structure to grow. For years, coaching was divided across programmes, planning took a back seat and opportunities were limited. A single coaching appointment marked the turning point. Since then, it has grown into a national effort to put proper structures in place.

Who’s Heading to Gulf Shores
More than 1,500 matches are played over the course of the season, but in the end, it all comes down to the final 15. Three rounds to determine one national champion. Sixteen teams will be selected for the 2025 National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship. The first round will begin the morning of Friday, May 2, with eight matches played all day long.

Boermans & De Groot snatch Brasilia Elite gold
Stefan Boermans & Yorick de Groot of the Netherlands triumphed at the end of the men’s final at the Brasilia Elite on the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour on Sunday and picked up their first gold on the Tour for over a year, but second medal in two appearances this season, after taking Saquarema Elite bronze last week.
